Michael Weiner, M.D.

Dr. Weiner is Founder and Principal Investigator of the Brain Health Registry, Professor of Radiology and Biomedical Engineering, Medicine, Psychiatry and Neurology at the University of California, San Francisco. He is also Principal Investigator of the National Institututes of Health-funded Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative, the largest observational study in the world concerning Alzheimer ’s Disease.

For more than 40 years he has conducted groundbreaking research and comprehensive imaging of the brain. With his collaborators, he has revolutionized the process of identifying biomarkers that predict Alzheimer’s disease. He has created established, and standardized methods for imaging and biomarker collection and analysis that have allowed scientists to conduct cohesive, and compatible research that can be shared between labs around the globe.

Dr. Weiner is currently Professor of Radiology and Biomedical Engineering, Departments of Medicine, Psychiatry and Neurology at UCSF.
